The 2019 CEGR Fall Retreat will occur on October 11th, 2019!
Annual CEGR Fall Retreats
CEGR retreats are held annually each fall to kick off the new academic year. Our retreats are geared towards getting to know the new members of the labs in the Center and meeting faculty through the planned activities, scientific and social discussions. This time together, along with our regular weekly Megameeting presentations, are all meant to encourage collaborative initiatives as well as foster ideas for scientific and technical innovations in the years to come.
Some years the events are more formal featuring research talks, panel discussions, and poster sessions by faculty, students of the Bioinformatics and Genomics graduate program.
The retreat consists of a one-and-a-half day meeting featuring a keynote speaker, faculty and student talks, workshop and poster presentations. This year we are honored to host Dr. Steven Brenner from University of California Berkeley as the keynote speaker. The retreat is open to everyone. Attendance is free, but you must register by September 28th.
The retreat also will include short talks by Penn State faculty, a poster session, and networking activities. A goal of this retreat is to provide current genomics information and education to the Penn State University research community, particularly researchers wishing to participate in medical research. All sessions are open to all interested participants.
