ASBMB Symposoim entitled “Transcription Regulation: Chromatin and RNA polymerase II” October 4th-8th 2018

Dr. Joeseph Reese, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and member of the Center for Eukaryotic Gene Regulation, is co-organizing the 8th biennial ASBMB symposium entitled; “Transcription Regulation: Chromatin and RNA polymerase II.”

The Symposium is to be held in early October 4th–8th 2018 at the Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, UT. Frank Pugh and Lucy Bai of CEGR are also scheduled to present. Sessions will cover recent findings in RNA polymerase II regulation, including the contributions of non-coding RNAs, chromatin structure and post-translational modifications, and other factors that regulate gene expression. Dr. Eva Nogales of the University of California, Berkeley, will present the keynote address on her work on the structure and function of the RNA polymerase II transcriptional apparatus. Students and postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to attend and will be eligible for poster awards; the winners will be given an opportunity to present their work as a short talk toward the end of the meeting.
